For Momentum Facilitated Discussions
Friday afternoon included a working session led by For Momentum, which facilitated
discussion about future Alliance activities. This working session proved to be quite
productive and involved a great deal of input from attending members. Several important
developments were identified in the group discussions:
Mission Clarity As the 15th anniversary of the Alliance approaches, the opportunity presents itself to review our mission and ensure it speaks clearly to our purpose, plus, drive the creation of a clear plan of work for the short-term and long-term.
Member Engagement Strategies Several concepts were examined and after much discussion, the following priorities were established: position the Alliance as the leading source of industry data collection and dissemination; conduct, sponsor or fund industry research in relation to new and emerging technologies; and address ongoing issues with workforce development and sustain efforts to improve industry image and legacy.
For Momentum created a comprehensive report called the POWER Assessment based on member interviews, an industry landscape snapshot of similar organizations, SWOT analysis, key findings and conclusions. A final version of the power assessment will be sent in future correspondence.
