Message from MVP Task Force Chair Tim Rainey
The 2010-11 year marked the 11th anniversary of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards program, which seeks to identify outstanding roofing workers who represent the best the industry has to offeras roofing professionals and human beings. Nominees are evaluated based on significant contributions in the following categories:- Outstanding on-the-job performance
- On-the-job safety performance
- Contributions to a team effort
- Community service and volunteerism
- Other noteworthy contributions and activities
We received 39 entries this year (nine more than the previous year). Ten were selected as award recipients and 10 were selected as finalists. Additionally, one of the 10 MVP winners was chosen as Professional Roofing's Best of the Best. For a complete list, click here. Winners received round-trip airfare to NRCA's annual convention in Las Vegas, two nights' accommodations, a $100 American Express gift certificate, publicity in Professional Roofing magazine, press releases to industry trade publications and newspapers, and recognition on the Alliance's website.
The MVP Awards program is an excellent, formal way of saying we value our workers' time and service to the roofing industry. It's also one way of encouraging them to remain within our industry.
Sincerely,
Tim Rainey
Chairman
Alliance MVP Task Force
