The Alliance still is accepting scholarship applications

There still is time to apply for The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress' Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program 2012-13 academic scholarships; applications are due Jan. 31, 2012. The Alliance is a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA.

Scholarship recipients are awarded $5,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study. Eligible applicants include full-time employees of an NRCA contractor or supplier member company or their dependent children or spouses. In addition, applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who already are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school. Recipients may use the money to support their studies at any accredited postsecondary institution.

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic record; potential to succeed; leadership and participation in school and community activities; honors; work experience; a statement of educational and career goals; and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered. Click here to download a scholarship application.
