Letter from founding chairman
Dear friends and colleagues,
We work in a straightforward industry. Everyone understands the need for a roof.
It completes a structure; provides essential shelter from the elements; and protects
the activities going on inside.
In a parallel way, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress is covering the future
for our benefit. Its educational and training programs complement our efforts to
ensure a well-prepared work force for decades to come. Its communications efforts
make certain industry, media, educators and the public understand the value and
potential of a career in roofing. The Alliance's scholarship initiative offers direct,
meaningful assistance to help the sons and daughters of our contractor members pursue
their educational goals.
We are proud of the Alliance's accomplishments. We are equally proud of our own
professional achievements. Now, the Alliance is moving to the next dimensionone
in which we, as successful entrepreneurs, can help ensure and safeguard the industry
that has provided for us so well for so many years.
Each of us has a private wish to see the best of our accomplishments live on long
after our own involvement ends. We are determined to make financial and estate decisions
that benefit our family, loved ones and organizations that have been important in
our lives. The following information has been created by the National Roofing Foundation
as an educational guide to help us understand the planned giving options available
to us.
We have each had a good life, thanks to the roofing industry. Several contractors
already have made the decision to provide a planned gift to The Roofing Industry
Alliance for Progress as part of their estates. It is our hope planned gifts and
bequests from many contractors will serve the "roof" for The Roofing Industry Alliance
for Progresscompleting its financial structure, sheltering the Alliance from
economic elements and protecting its activities for all who follow.
